Welcoming you and your horse!

The Stables not only offers first-class accommodation to groups of family and friends. With paddocks and stabling available on site, why not saddle up and treat your four legged friends to a break too? We offer first class facilities for your horses including 2 loose boxes, a tack/feed room and plenty of lush grazing across 2 post and rail paddocks. We are on the doorstep of some fabulous rides (many of which lead to horse-friendly pubs for a lunch stop!) or why not book a private lesson at nearby Kingston Maurward, Dorset’s finest equestrian centre.

The acre paddock is there for your exclusive use and leads directly on to bridle paths and tracks from where you can explore all the local hacks down towards Cerne Abbas, Dorchester and beyond. We can also arrange accompanied hacks with experienced local riders (at an extra cost).

The Stables

  • Two loose boxes and a tack room available.
  • A one acre paddock, suitable for 2 horses.
  • We charge an extra £30 per day for the hire of the stables and paddock.
  • We can organise hay, feed and bedding at an additional cost.
  • Please ask if you want accompanied hacks.

Local Hacks

Piddlehinton to Piddletrenthide:

Puddletown Forest
: An attractive, large and varied woodland with options for short and long circular walks along its network of bridleways. The forest is extremely diverse in its fauna and flora, with trees ranging from oak to elm and a huge range of wildlife.

The River Track – Lower Bockhampton: Head towards Lower Bockhampton over the first bridge and immediately you will see a signpost on the right which will take you onto the path that runs parallel to the river. This ride from Greenwood Grange has beautiful views.

Kingston Maurward – Via Fields: From Greenwood Grange at the top of the hill you will see a signpost on your right, proceed through the gate and follow the Bridle path signs to Kingston Maurward and Stinsford.  This will take you across fields and leads you onto the path along the River.

Kingston Maurward College and the Equestrian Centre: Just want to mention Kingston Maurward. It’s the most stunning setting. It is also a great venue for watching dressage and show jumping events – and it’s somewhere that you can also take part!
