beautifully furnished holiday cottage

Nestled in rural West Dorset

A short break with family or friends, or a leisurely weekend away, we welcome you to The Stables at Whites Dairy House, our holiday cottage nestled in rural West Dorset. Recently converted, it offers super quality self catering accommodation, comfortably sleeping up to 7 guests.

The Stables at Whites Dairy House provides a comfortable and welcoming rural retreat with wonderful views across the Dorset countryside, perfectly situated for exploring Thomas Hardy country, the Jurassic Coastline and Dorset’s many picturesque villages, tourist attractions and countryside.

Recently refurbished, The Stables has been tastefully furnished,  offering three double en-suite bedrooms (one of which is situated on the ground floor) and one single bedroom. With power showers and super comfy beds, you’ll wake up raring to go after a heavenly night’s sleep! All of the king size beds can be converted into twin beds.

Situated in 1.4 acres, all the rooms look out over the waterside walled garden. A foot bridge leads you over a shallow mill stream to the paddock, giving breathtaking views of the rolling hills and incredible sunsets. The paddock is perfect for family rounders, football matches, kite flying etc. Stroll around the large pond or help yourself to fresh free range eggs from our family of hens for breakfast.

The property has wifi throughout. An open planned living area on the ground floor has a well equipped kitchen and dining table, as well as lounge area, providing everything you need to cater for your stay. If you don’t fancy cooking, amble down to the award winning Thimble Inn, just a two minute walk away, or book a table at The Brace of Pheasants in nearby Plush, Dorset’s Dining Pub of the Year 2017.

All double bedrooms in the cottage have:

  • Pocket sprung, super-king size double or twin beds.
  • Power showers.
  • En-suite facilities.
  • Large bath sheets, hand towels, bath mats and flannels.
  • Large windows and views out over the rose garden, mill stream, the Piddle Valley and rolling hills beyond.

“What an enchanting place to stay. Our family had a most relaxing week in the Stables, lots of walks and visits to the pub. Perfect! Thank you.”

“A real find in a most beautiful setting. The family loved the Stables, thank you so much. The house was clean, and you are right, the power showers are amazing. We’ll be back soon, perhaps we’ll bring our house down next time!?”

“The place is beautiful and perfect for all the family kids and dogs. Katie and Tom are the most fantastic hosts and made us feel so welcome and they are always there to ask if you needed help or advice. There is a fantastic pub 30 seconds down the road. Highly recommended staying we didn’t want to leave and most certainly will be going back.”

“Amazing accommodation, fabulous hosts, outstanding hospitality, wonderful family and beautiful location. Exceeded all of our expectations.”

“Katie and Tom are fantastic hosts. Their attention to detail during our holiday has to be applauded. The house is excellent, with everything you could ask for. It has been completed very tastefully and to a very high standard. Everything we needed was there or quickly sorted by Katie. Even though the weather was rather wet during our stay, it did not spoil the beautiful surroundings and lovely location. Indeed we appreciated the excellent local pubs even more so. This is a superb destination and we cannot rate it highly enough. You will not be disappointed.”

“Katie, Thank you so much for an excellent Easter holiday . Your house has to be one of the best Airbnb’s we have stayed in and I’m amazed you have done so much in such a short space of time. We really appreciated the small touches, the cake, the hot cross buns, even the mango ones!. All the best for the future. We certainly hope to visit again in the not too distant future.”
